DNG-9909 - The Screaming Guitar
Last modified: April 28, 2025
Key Details
- Item: Electric Guitar, Model SG-500X
- Manufacturer: ██████ Instruments, a small, now-defunct musical instruments company.
- Serial Number: 0452-2087X
- Year of Production: 2003 (not widely distributed).
- Condition: The guitar appears to be in good condition, with only slight wear typical of age. Despite its pristine appearance, the sound it produces is not that of a musical instrument.
Discovery
The guitar was discovered in an abandoned music store in ████████████, a small town known for its eerie reputation. Local authorities had initially thought the store was simply a victim of vandalism, but upon further investigation, the guitar was found resting atop a dusty shelf in a dark corner of the shop. What drew us to the guitar was one team member visiting the place due to an unknown tip.
When this team member picked up the guitar, it was immediately noted that the sound it emitted was unlike any typical string instrument noise. Instead of musical notes or even distorted riffs, the guitar produced a chilling series of screams, wails, and whispers, often described as "suffocating and painful." They immediately grabbed it and brought it in.
The store owner, who was later identified as ██████ ██████████, had been reported missing shortly before the discovery of the guitar. Strangely, a police search of the premises found no signs of forced entry or foul play, leading some to speculate that the guitar’s possession was somehow linked to the owner’s disappearance.
Reported Anomalies
-
Unnatural Sound Production: When plugged into an amplifier, instead of the expected guitar riffs, the instrument generates agonized screams, shrieks, and distorted wails. The screams are often described as being human in nature, with occasional whispering voices that seem to call out in pain.
-
Psychological Distress: Those who come into close proximity to the guitar, particularly those who attempt to play it, often report severe anxiety, dizziness, and disorientation. Some individuals have described hearing whispers urging them to “stop” or “play” even when they do not touch the strings. Extended exposure can lead to symptoms of paranoia, as well as vivid nightmares, often involving themes of tragedy and death.
Although, any attempt to record the sounds into an audio-visual capturing device has led to no sounds being captured.
Investigative Experiments
Basic Sound Test
The guitar was plugged into a standard amplifier, with the team recording the sound output. The test was conducted in a controlled environment, with no other audio sources present.
The guitar emitted a series of loud, echoing screams, described as high-pitched and ear-piercing. When the volume was adjusted, the sound fluctuated, becoming more distorted. At one point, the sound became so overwhelming that the equipment was damaged. Several team members reported feeling an overwhelming sense of dread during the experiment. When the recorded audio was checked, there was no sound captured originating from the guitar.
Isolation Test
The guitar was placed in a locked, isolated room for a period of 72 hours, with no human contact. Audio equipment was left to record any sounds made by the instrument.
Without human presence, the guitar did not emit any sound at all.
Theories
Several theories have been proposed to explain the phenomena associated with the guitar:
-
Residual Energy from Previous Owners: Some researchers believe the guitar acts as a vessel for trapped, residual emotional energy, particularly from its past owners. The intensity of the screams may represent the despair and anguish of those who came into contact with it.
-
Cursed Object Theory: Given the patterns of missing persons and unexplained deaths associated with the guitar, it is plausible that it is cursed, either by a demonic entity or as a result of black magic. The guitar could be amplifying and manifesting the suffering of its owners in some sort of twisted feedback loop.
-
Psychosomatic Influence: Another theory suggests that the guitar's influence is entirely psychological, with its eerie sound becoming a trigger for extreme paranoia and anxiety. Those who play it may be affected by their own fears, leading them to believe the guitar is causing the events.
Current Status
The guitar is currently secured in a containment facility, with strict restrictions on handling. It remains classified as Euclid, due to its unpredictable and dangerous psychological effects on those who interact with it. All attempts to trace its origins have so far yielded no concrete answers, and the link between its screaming sounds and its previous owners remains an unsolved mystery.
Researchers are cautioned against prolonged exposure, and further experiments are to be conducted only under controlled conditions. Given the unsettling effects of the guitar, its use is strictly prohibited for non-research personnel.
